Central Agricultural University (CAU) offers courses to aspirants at undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level. Programmes offered at CAU are in Science stream. The University comprises of seven colleges which include a College of Postgraduate studies.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses

General category students meet Central Agricultural University’s eligibility criteria to secure admission in UG courses if they have cleared their Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate marks in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics and Agriculture. For SC/ST/PH/In-service category students the minimum aggregate percentage to be eligible for admission is 40%.

Age Limit: Aspirants should be 17 years of age to meet CAU eligibility criteria.

Admission Process for UG Courses

Aspirants are offered admission in UG programmes through nomination by respective states of North East Region as well as ICAR/VCI, on the basis of entrance test held by them.

Elaborating the same the official website informs: “Based on the population of each constituent state, quota has been fixed for undergraduate programmes for various states and the admission is given to the candidates sponsored by the respective states based on the common entrance test conducted by them. In addition to states’ quota, 15% seats for undergraduate programmes are filled up by the ICAR/VCI, based on All–India Entrance Examination”.

Admission Process for PG Courses

The admission process for postgraduate courses is such that aspirants are shortlisted for admission basis merit in qualifying degree exam as well as nomination by ICAR.

The official website informs: “Candidates with Bachelors’ degree in concerned/related subjects from a recognised university with OGPA of 6.00 out of 10.00 or equivalent percentage of marks are eligible for admission to the Master’s Degree programmes. SC/ST candidates with OGPA of 5.50 in the Bachelor’s degree shall be eligible for the admission”.

In PG programmes offered at Central Agricultural University (CAU), around 75% seats are filled basis their merit in the qualifying examination and the remaining 25% seats are reserved for ICAR and these seats are filled basis an aspirant’s performance in All–India Entrance Test.

Central Agriculture University Imphal CAU Online application form:

Candidates need to fill their application form for Central Agricultural University admissions as per the format specified by the university. Along with the application form, candidates need to submit attested copies of certificate, mark sheets, age proof certificate, domicile certificate, OBC/Caste/Tribe certificates (if required) as well as application fee.

The application fee needs to be paid in form of IPO or Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Comptroller, Central Agricultural University, Imphal and should be payable at SBI (Main Branch), Imphal.

Note: “Candidates who are eligible and willing to be considered for different colleges have to submit separate application form and separate prescribed fee for consideration of their candidature”, informs the official website. It is further shared that candidates from Govt. Departments/Organisations are required to submit his/her application through the Head of Department concerned, failing which the candidature will not be considered.

Application Process for College of Home Science

Aspirants who want to apply for admission in four year degree programmes – BSc Home Science and BSc Nutrition & Dietetics need to fill the application form as shared by the college.

College of Home Science application form needs to be submitted along with attested copies of marksheets, age proof certificate, domicile certificate, OBC/Caste/Tribe certificate and two passport size photographs along with the application fee.

Candidates can pay the application fee in the form of Cash/IPO/DD that is drawn in favour of the Dean, College of Home Science, CAU, Tura, Meghalaya. Thus, candidates need to submit their duly filled application form along with the prescribed application fee to the college.

Central Agriculture University Imphal CAU Admit Card

The admit card for appearing in the entrance examination will be sent to the concerned candidate by email only (except MVSc programmes). Hence, email address is mandatory along with phone number(s). Candidates can also collect their admit card personally from the Academic Section of the University Headquarters/Concerned Colleges where entrance test shall be held.
